FARMVILLE, Va. – The Longwood University men's tennis team dropped its second match in a row in as many days by the same 4-3 score, this time to James Madison on Lancer Courts in Farmville on Saturday afternoon. Junior Nobu Tanaka|Potomac, Md. (St. Johns College HS), sophomore Marc Ferrigno|Hvidovre, Denmark (Brondby Gymnasium) and freshman Crescente Lesser|Santiago, Chile (La Reina) won their singles matches at No. 1, 2 and 3, respectively, for the Lancers' (4-6) three points against the Dukes (8-5). LU finishes its three-match homestand Sunday, March 27 at 1 p.m. against Norfolk State on Lancer Courts in Farmville.

Tanaka topped his No. 1 singles foe 6-1, 6-1 as Ferrigno tallied a 6-2, 7-6 (1) victory at No. 2, and Lesser won at No. 3 singles 6-0, 7-5. On the losing end of singles action was freshman Jimmy Davis|Manassas (Stonewall Jackson) in the No. 4 slot, falling 6-4, 6-4 as well as senior Milo Barajas-Alexander|Arlington (Bishop O'Connell) and freshman Edward Becker|Sydney, Australia (Manly Selective Campus), both losing in singles at No. 5 and 6, respectively, 6-1, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-1.

In doubles play, Ferrigno and Davis fell at No. 1 8-5 with Barajas-Alexander and Becker dropping the No. 2 decision 8-0. Tanaka and Lesser paired up at No. 3 and fell 8-7 (2).
