FARMVILLE, Va. - The Longwood University women's basketball team is set to travel to Blacksburg on Thursday, February 10, to take on Virginia Tech of the Atlantic Coast Conference at 7 p.m. in Cassell Coliseum. Longwood (6-16) is coached by interim head coach
Bill Reinson and is led by junior
Brittanni Billups (10.4p, 6.6r) and is coming off a 77-73 victory over UNC Asheville on Tuesday night. Billups recorded her fourth double-double of the season against the Bulldogs with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Virginia Tech (9-14) is coached by Beth Dunkenberger and is led by Shanel Harrison (12.8p, 6r) and is coming off a 60-55 loss to Wake Forest last Sunday. The Lancers and Hokies have met eight times in women's basketball with Virginia Tech leading the series 6-2, including victories in the last five meetings.

Longwood is coming off a 77-73 victory over UNC Asheville of the Big South Conference. The Lancers started the game with the early 10-4 lead before the Bulldogs pulled ahead to their biggest lead of the night at 24-19 with 7:30 remaining. The game was tied 32-32 at halftime. Longwood led 53-44 but UNCA stormed back to take the 57-56 lead with 8:11 remaining.
Crystal Smith hit a three-pointer and
Brittanni Billups added a layup to push the Longwood lead to 61-57. The visitors rallied to lead 69-66 before LU took the lead for good on a jumper by Smith.
