FARMVILLE, Va. - The Longwood University women's tennis team fell to in-state foe Radford University 6-1 on Tuesday afternoon on Lancer Courts in Farmville. The Lancers (9-7) were led by senior Mason Davis/Richmond (Collegiate School) who picked up Longwood's only win at #4 singles. Longwood returns to action on Friday, April 9, when they travel to Towson, Maryland, to take on Towson University at 2 p.m..

In singles action, Davis won at #4 (6-4, 6-2) while senior Laura Simon/Barcelona, Spain (IES Lluis de Peguera) lost at #1 (4-6, 1-6), junior Zsofia Jakab/Minusio, Switzerland (Lices Cantonale Locarns) fell at #2 (1-6, 6-7(4)), freshman Marta Pinyol/Barcelona, Spain (IESM Ferran Tallada) lost at #3 (4-6, 6-3, 10-12), freshman Allison Shulman/Richmond (Deep Run) fell at #5 (6-2, 1-4, retired) and freshman Hannah Hill/Portsmouth (Western Branch) lost at #6 (5-8).

In doubles action, Pinyol and Jakab won at #1 (9-7). Davis and Shulman lost at #2 (6-8) and Simon and Hill fell at #3 (2-8).
