GREENVILLE, N.C. - The Longwood University men's tennis team fell to East Carolina University 5-2 on Friday afternoon in Greenville, North Carolina. The Lancers won two of the six singles matches and dropped the doubles point. Longwood returns to action on Sunday, March 21, when they travel to Harrisonburg to take on James Madison University at 1:30 p.m..

In singles action, senior Billy Heird/York, Pa. (Dallastown) won at #4 (6-2, 6-4) and freshman Adham Halabi/Beamsville, Canada (Niagara Academy) won at #6 (6-3, 7-6(9-7)). Sophomore Nobu Tanaka/Potomac, Md. (St. Johns College HS) lost at #1 (1-6, 1-6), freshman Marc Ferrigno/Hvidovre, Denmark (Brondby Gymnasium) fell at #2 (1-6, 3-6), freshman Bruno Orlandini/Araraquara, Brazil (E.E.B.A Araraquara) lost at #3 (4-6, 2-6) and senior David Cardoso/Porto, Portugal (Externato Lumen) lost at #5 (3-6, 6-7(5)).

In doubles competition, Heird and Ferrigno fell at #1 (4-8), Tanaka and Cardoso lost at #2 (6-8) and Halabi and junior Milo Barajas-Alexander/Arlington (Bishop O'Connell) lost at #3 (6-8).
