Longwood Falls To UNC Greensboro 4-0

FARMVILLE, Va. - The Longwood University women's tennis team fell to UNC Greensboro 4-0 in a rain shortened match on Thursday afternoon in Farmville. The Lancers took the court one player down, only playing in five singles and two doubles flights. Longwood falls to 1-4 on the season while UNCG improves to 6-2. The Lancers return to action on Saturday when they host James Madison University at 3 p.m in Farmville.

In singles action, Nasim Moadab/Colonial Heights, Va. (Colonial Heights) fell at #4 (1-6, 0-6) and Eileen Sullivan/Toano, Va. (Nansemond Suffolk Academy) lost at #5 (0-6, 0-6). The first three singles flights were not finished due to weather, but Zsofia Jakab/Minusio, Switzerland (Lices Cantonale Locarns) trailed at #1 (3-5 UF), Jackie Esguerra/Sauk City, Wis. (Prairie du Sac High) was behind at #2 (0-6, 2-1 UF) and Ashley Melson/Virginia Beach, Va. (Kellam) trailed at #3 (4-6, 0-2 UF).

Jakab and Esguerra fell at #1 doubles (6-8) and Moadab and Melson fell at #2 (1-8).
