FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood University defeated Iona College 4-1 and Central Connecticut State University 14-3 in five innings in the Longwood Spring Classic. Senior catcher

Tricia Nelson/Plainfield, Ill. (Plainfield Central). The Lancers added three more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning when Radford singled to left-center field to lead off the inning. Sophomore
Kami Nuckols/Glen Allen, Va. (Patrick Henry) entered the game as a pinch runner and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt laid down by Long. Wells' hit a ground ball to the shortstop who threw home, but the catcher committed the error, allowing Long to score. Junior
Amy Betterton/Rocky Mount, Va. (Franklin County) pinch hit for Nelson and singled.
Maggie Margadonna singled down the right field line, driving in Wells and Betterton, giving the Lancer three runs in the sixth inning.
The bats stayed hot in the second game as the Lancer were batting in the top-half of the inning and came out swinging. Sophomore left fielder

The Lancers scored in every inning, including Radford's two home runs. The first was a two-run shot in the third inning that drove in Long.
