FARMVILLE, Va. - Longwood University men’s tennis (4-5) picked up its fourth consecutive win on Wednesday afternoon at the Lancer Courts, defeating Liberty 6-1. The Lancers will return to the courts on March 8 when they take on George Washington in Washington, D.C. at 1 p.m. Longwood was led by junior Brandon Lindsley/Woodbridge (Woodbridge) who defeated Chad Simpson at the #1 singles position (6-1, 6-2).

Also winning in singles was junior Carlos Garcia de Andoain/Madrid, Spain (Liceo Sorolla ‘C’) from the #2 spot (6-3, 6-4), while David Cardoso/Porto, Portugal (Externato Lumen) picked up a win in the #3 spot (6-4, 7-5). Mani Barajas-Alexander/Arlington (Bishop O’Connell) earned a victory in the #5 spot, defeating Juan Reyes 6-1, 6-7 [5], [10-8], while Austin Brawley/Virginia Beach (Frank W. Cox) won at #6 (6-0, 7-5). Falling in singles was Billy Heird/York, Pa. (Dallastown) (3-6, 4-6).

The Lancers picked up two victories in doubles, including one from Heird/Cardoso at the #1 spot (8-6). Also winning in doubles was Mani Barajas-Alexander/Garcia at the #3 (9-8 [5]). Milo Barajas-Alexander/Arlington (Bishop O’Connell) and Lindsley fell at the #2 spot, 2-8.
