FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University dropped a 5-2 women’s tennis decision to visiting Liberty University Friday at the Lancer Courts in Farmville.  The Lancers are now 7-7 this season, while the Flames improved to 9-7.  Longwood will play again on Saturday, April 8, hosting Gardner-Webb at the Lancer Courts in Farmville beginning at 3 p.m..
    
Against Liberty, Longwood got its lone win in singles from senior Jessica Farr/Williamsburg (Lafayette) at #6 (6-4, 7-6).  In doubles, juniors Romana Bucur/Brasov, Romania (Joan Mesota) and Lexi Torrice/Richmond (Douglas Freeman) won at #1 (8-6), as did Farr and sophomore Brittany Huddleston/Roanoke (Cave Spring) at #3 (8-4).
    
Also playing for the Lancers, and falling in singles were Bucur at #1 (4-6, 6-3, 4-6), sophomore Elena Triebskorn/Heddesheim, Germany (Carl-Benz Gymnasium) at #2 (2-6, 2-6), freshman Ashley Melson/Virginia Beach (Kellam) at #3 (2-6, 4-6), Torrice at #4 (3-6, 6-4, 4-6), and Huddleston at #5 (1-6, 1-6).  Falling in doubles were Triebskorn and Melson at #2 (5-8).
