Senior Julie Patterson Makes 13 Saves in Setback

TOWSON, Md. -- Towson University took a 2-0 victory over visiting Longwood University in a field hockey contest late Friday afternoon in Towson, Md.. The host Tigers (5-10) scored a goal in each half to secure the win. The Lancers (4-10) will be back in action Sunday, October 17 when they play C.W. Post in Brookville, N.Y.. Game time is slated for noon.

Towson took the 1-0 advantage at the 23:46 mark when Aimee Carroll scored on an assist by Jess Auge. The Tigers got an insurance goal at the 57:09 mark when Kim McEwen scored her first goal of the season. Auge again was credited with the assist.

Senior goalkeeper Julie Patterson/Esmont (Monticello) went the distance in front of the cage for the Lancers. She finished the match with 13 saves, including eight in the second half.
